​What will you learn from this course?
The primary goals are to recognize the impacts of climate change on the environment and sustainability, comprehend and apply demand-driven green skills, and analyze and evaluate locally-led climate actions in the local southern context. This holistic approach aims to integrate knowledge of climate change, practical green skills, and localized actions to foster a more sustainable and resilient future.

Why is this unique?
This unique short course equips senior undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students with vital green skills for future job markets, focusing on the Global South where climate impacts are most severe. It combines case studies, real-world projects, hands-on exercises, and fieldwork to provide practical experience in developing transformative climate solutions. The course aims to create a platform for high-quality climate action, preparing learners to lead or contribute to climate solutions in various sectors, including INGOs, NGOs, industries, educational, and research institutions.

What are the topics covered and who are the resource persons?
The program covers a comprehensive range of topics related to green skills and climate change. It starts with an introduction to green skills and the impacts of climate change on environmental sustainability. Participants then explore climate change adaptation practices and the importance of gender and social inclusion in these efforts. The program delves into climate change mitigation, the green economy, and the barriers to effective climate action. Evidence-based decision-making and understanding climate uncertainty are also discussed. Additionally, participants visit a project site to gain practical insights and review regional and international success stories with good practices. The program will be conducted by experts from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health.
